During his holiday in France, Paul van Gulick found much inspiration in the city of Angers. In the castle of Angers is exhibited a beautifully woven tapestry dating from the second half of the 14th century and depicting the Apocalypse of John. This tapestry is over 100 metres long and 4 metres high. When you look at it, you go back in time. One can see how people in the 14th century visualized the end of time and the New Jerusalem. Magnificent! Paul has decided to write a cantata as a result of his visit to Angers and he has already started composing. Paul hopes to finish this composition in 2010 and to perform this work in the castle of Angers in 2011
