String Quartet 1 (2007)

Paul van GulickIn 2007 Paul van Gulick composed his first String Quartet. He dedicated the three parts to his children: Gerwald, Kathelijne and Marlieke.

The first part "La justice" is dedicated to Kathelijne (23) who studied Law at the University of Tilburg. The second part "L'histoire" is dedicated to Marlieke (21) who is studying History at the University of Utrecht. The third part "Bonne chance" is dedicated to Gerwald (25) who made an art out of the theory of probabilities after studying econometrics at the University of Tilburg. He's now working for his PhD.

On June 22nd The Alauda String Quartet [Hans and Carolien Rijkmans (violin), Prunella Pacey (viola) and Guus Fabrius (cello)] made a recording in the Concert Hall of the Centre of Arts in Breda: Nieuwe Veste. Remko Luijten was responsible for the recording.
