The Chamber Choir BonTon means a great deal to Paul. He created this choir five years ago and we’re close friends. It seemed like a good idea to compose a cycle consisting of 21 parts (7x3) dedicated to the chamber choir and its individual members.
He has tried to relate the words to the (characters of) the individual members of the choir. An alto and founder member, Dr Annemarie Estor, was willing to write seven poems to underline the unity of the cycle. Seven times, a poem introduces a trilogy within the cycle. Anne van Buul made the illustrations for this work.

I am proud of this work. There have been some changes within the choir and some pieces are dedicated to members who have by now left the choir. But is has nevertheless become a personal record of five years of the Chamber Choir BonTon. I hope to continue conducting this choir for many years to come and that we’ll be able to inspire each other to great achievements.
